Capsicum [Digestive, Circulatory] is added to many herbal formulas as a catalyst for the other herbs. It also stimulates digestion and enhances blood flow. It became NSP s first product back in 1972 after Gene Hughes took it by the spoonful to help his stomach.
This annual plant also known as 'Cayenne', was used by the South Americans as a condiment. Their vegetable diet had a tendency for flatulence that Capsicum helped to correct. Capsicum in modern times can be found in nearly all herbal formulas (except nervines) as its properties assist in the maintenance of peripheral circulation. Each capsule contains approximately 40,000 heat units.
