Thompsons Natural Vitamin E 200IU Capsule 100
In Nature, Vitamin E occurs as a group of compounds called tocopherols. Thompsons Mixed Tocopherol Vitamin E replicates nature by including all the tocopherols which are able to be used by the human body.
Discovered in the 1920 s we are only recently beginning to appreciate the true therapeutic value of Vitamin E.
Vitamin E is a generic term for a group of related compounds called tocopherols, which occur in four major forms : alpha, beta, delta and gamma-tocopherols. One of Vitamin E s most important functions is to protect cell membranes by assisting in destroying or neutralising free radicals, the unstable oxygen molecules that cause damage to cells. Its beneficial effects are due to a reduction in harmful low density lipoproteins (LDL s), the prevention of blood clots and a reduction in inflammatory processes that have been linked to heart problems.
Vitamin E s protective action confers other beneficial effects on the body. There is evidence to suggest that Vitamin E improves immune function, particularly in the elderly and protects against air and chemical pollutants. Vitamin E may reduce the risk of cataract formation, decrease exercise-induced damage and may slow down the progression of Alzheimers. It is also useful in the relief of premenstrual breast pain and tenderness.
Thompson s new Vitamin E family is non-genetically modified and now contains the trace mineral selenium in a natural mixed tocopherol fomula. Selenium has been added to increase Vitamin E s therapeutic impact and because of New Zealand soils poor selenium content.
Thompson s Natural Vitamin E Group is available in a range of strengths : 100iu, 200iu and 500iu capsules.
