Gaviscon is a chewable tablet for fast relief from Heartburn and Indigestion due to reflux.

Gaviscon tablets helps to relieve the burning pain of Heartburn and the discomfort of Indigestion.

It helps to protect the inflamed Oesophagael tissue and prevent further inflammation by forming a physical barrier to reflux.

The Alginate "raft" helps to keep the gastric contents in place thereby reducing the likelihood of these irritating the delicate lining of the Oesophagus.

Active Ingredients

Each gaviscon tablet contains Alginic acid 250mg, Sodium bicarbonate 85mg, Aluminium hydroxide dried 50mg, magnesium trisilicate 12.5mg.

These tablets are sugar and Gluten free.

Each tablet contains 23.5mg of Sodium.Gaviscon tablets also contain mannitol and Xylitol.The maximum daily dose (16 tablets) equates to9.6g mannitol and 2.4g Xylitol. These ingredients may have a laxative effect.

Dosage

The Adult dose of gaviscon tablets is 2 tablets to be chewed as required, after meals and half an hour before going to bed at night, up to four times daily.

A dose may be increased to a maximum of 4 tablets if required.

The dose for Children 6-12 years is 1 -2 tablets to be chewed as required, after meals and half an hour before going to bed at night, up to 4 times daily.

Tablets should be thoroughly chewed and swallowed when they become sticky. this may be followed by a drink of water, if desired.

Chewing may be helped if the tablets are forst broken and taken a little at a time. It is recommended that you do not immediately lie down or go to bed after taking the tablets.
