Vitamin A is a fat-soluble vitamin which boosts immune function and helps maintain healthy eyes and skin. The Vitamin A group includes retinol, retinal, and provitamin A carotenoids. The most important of these is beta-carotene, which comes from vegetables and plants and is important for eyesight.

Most people get enough Vitamin A through their normal diet. It is found in meats and vegetables, however Vitamin A supplementation can be useful to support the eyes and skin, or your health practitioner may suggest a course of Vitamin A when the dietary intake is insufficient, or for a specific condition.
