Targeted action cream that is used to relieve osteoarthritis joint pain.

For osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis pain, the original strength Zostrix Cream is advised.

For post herpetic neuralgia or diabetic peripheral neuropathy pain, the extra strength Zostrix HP Cream is advised.

Zostrix Cream works gradually, taking up to 4-6 weeks to take full effect and fully ease the pain.

It works with the body's chemistry to lower the level of Substance P, which is the body's "pain messenger" that sends pain impulses to the brain.

By using Zostrix cream daily the capsaicin builds up, the amount of Substance P is reduced in the joints as well as the body's system and the pain fades providing relief.

Dosage

Apply Zostrix cream to the affected area 3 to 4 times daily
Zostrix may cause a temporary burning sensation upon first application
This burning is observed more frequently when Zostrix cream is applied less than 3 to 4 times daily
After applying Zostrix cream with the fingers, hands should be washed immediately, unless the hands are being treated.

Warnings

Not recommended for use on children Avoid contact with eyes or broken or damaged skin. Do not bandage tightly If the condition worsens or clears up and then recurs within a few days, discontinue use of this product and consult your physician.
