It works in the same way as high fibre foods by providing the bulk to digested food which helps to move it through the Digestive tract at a normal rate.

Metamucil Orange contains 3.4g Psyllium Husk Powder, Aspartame, Citric acid, Sunset yellow FCF cl15985, maltodextrin, artificial and natural orange flavour per 5 .9g dose.

It contains less than 5mg Sodium per dose and is Gluten-free and contains no chemical stimulants.

Dosage

The dose to help restore and maintain regularity for Adults and Children over 12 Years is one and a half level 5ml measuring spoons dissolved in at least 250ml of fluid and stirred briskly.

If the mixture thickens, add more fluid.

This is to be taken 1 to 3 times daily. ,br>
For Children 6-11years use half the Adult dose.

To help lower Cholesterol levels take one and a half level 5ml measuring spoons 3 times daily dissolved in fluid as before

Adverse Effects

As your body adjusts to increased fibre content, you may experience changes in Bowel habits or minor Bloating.

metamucil may cause an allergic reaction in some people who are sensitive to inhaled or ingested Psyllium.

Warnings

Take Metamucil 2 hours away from any other medication to avoid absorbtion problems.

Do not use if you have Abdominal pain, Chest pain, Vomiting, rectal bleeding or difficulty in swallowing or breathing.refer to your Doctor.

If constipation persists for more than 7 days, consult your Doctor.
