Pregnancy and Breast Feeding - This product contains the Recommended Daily Allowance (RDA) for Vitamin A during pregnancy (2566 IU or 770mcg/day). Total Vitamin A intake from dietary and supplemental sources should not exceed 4 times the RDA (10,000 IU or 3000 mcg/day). Therefore women should not consume more than 10,000 IU of vitamin A per day during pregnancy as amounts above this level have been shown (especially during the first seven weeks of pregnancy) to cause birth defects in approximately 2% of pregnant women.8 Iron is not included in this product, as iron levels during pregnancy should be medically assessed to determine requirements.
Dietary supplements are additional to, and not a replacement for a balanced diet. Always read the label. Use as directed. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. Pregnant or lactating women should consult their health professional before taking supplements. If symptoms persist, see your health professional.
