Kenalog (Triamcinolone Acetonide) is a synthetic corticosteroid which may manage inflammation, and other oral irritation. The emollient dental paste acts as an adhesive vehicle for applying the active medication to the oral tissues. The vehicle provides a protective covering which may serve to temporarily manage oral irritation.

Kenalog in Orabase is indicated for adjunctive treatment and for the temporary relief of symptoms associated with oral inflammatory lesions and ulcerative lesions resulting from trauma.

Active Ingredients

Each gram of Kenalog in Orabase provides 1 mg (0.1%) triamcinolone acetonide in emollient dental paste containing gelatin, pectin, and carboboxymethylcellulose sodium in Plastibase® (Plasticized Hydrocarbon Gel), a polyethylene and mineral oil gel base.

Dosage

Press a small dab (do not rub in) to lesion at bedtime.

If necessary Kenalog can be applied 2 to 3 times daily, preferably after meals.

Warnings

This preparation is contraindicated in patients with a history of hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Because it contains a corticosteroid, the preparation is contraindicated in the presence of fungal, viral, or bacterial infections of the mouth or throat.

We used to be able to get it here under a different brand name in the UK but they stopped manufacturing it. I am so pleased I found this company (Healthchemist) who were prepared to ship to us on the other side of the world.
